The Elk Grove Park District Preschool and Kindergarten Club will be holding an Open House on Wednesday, February 15, 2012 from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm at the Al Hattendorf Center, 225 E. Elk Grove Blvd. in Elk Grove Village. Come see our preschool environment, meet our staff, and learn about our programs, including extended day options and Kindergarten Club.

The Elk Grove Park District Preschool has provided an outstanding early childhood education to our community for over 41 years. Our curriculum is based on the Illinois Early Childhood Standards. All children participate in our weekly music classes and gym classes.

Free Job Fair coming to the Pavilion on Thursday, February 16th from 11:00am to 3:00pm. This job fair is sponsored by Senator Dan Kotowski. It is free to all employers and job seekers. All attending employers will have open positions available. Are you ready to party yourself into shape? That’s exactly what the Zumba Party is all about. It’s an exhilarating, effective, easy-to-follow, Latin-inspired, calorie-burning fitness dance. Pavilion Fitness is hosting Zumba Party in the Garden Terrace on Friday, February 24th from 6:00 to 8:00pm. Everyone that attends gets a ticket for the Zumba product raffle. There will be chips and salsa and other snacks served. Two instructors will help you learn new choreography and have fun! The Garden Terrace is located at 1000 Wellington Avenue in Elk Grove Village. Admission for Pavilion Fitness members is $5 and nonmembers are only $7.

Seniors age 60 and over and those with low to moderate incomes may sign up at the Elk Grove Sheila Ray Adult Center to have their 2011 federal and state income tax returns prepared for free. The volunteers for the IRS-AARP Tax Aide Service are available to help. The Elk Grove Sheila Ray Adult Center is located at 225 E. Elk Grove Boulevard in Elk Grove Village. Both electronic and paper filing is available.

Leisure Vision/ETC Institute and the Elk Grove Park District recently conducted a community survey. During July and August of 2009 surveys were mailed to 2,000 Elk Grove Village resident households. The goal was to receive 400 completed surveys in order for the results to be statistically reliable and valid. This goal was accomplished when 425 completed surveys were completed.  Thank you to all who completed the survey. Community surveys help establish priorities for the future improvement of parks and recreation facilities along with programs and services within the community. The survey overview includes 14 major survey findings.
