From Recipe to Formula -
New Historical Museum exhibit open March through August

Learn the history behind the local Jarosch Bakery including how the family baking tradition started, how everyday recipes are converted into mass quantities, and stories from long-term employees and family members. The exhibit will include bakery artifacts, audio clips, and activities for children. Every visitor to the exhibit will be given a ticket to receive a free cookie at the Jarosch Bakery!

The Pavilion Aquatic Center is planning to close February 27 through March 21, 2010, in order for the Elk Grove Park District to comply with the Virginia Graeme Baker Act. Please note we are waiting for the final construction permits from the Illinois Department of Public Health. We remain hopeful that construction will take place as planned; however, if we hear differently, we will keep you advised. 

The Virginia Graeme Baker (VGB) Pool and Spa Safety Act mandates the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) to enforce mandatory suction entrapment regulations for all pools and spas, commercial and private.   For over a year, we have been working with a professional aquatic company and the IDPH to become compliant with the law.  This process is more than just changing the grates.

Leisure Vision/ETC Institute and the Elk Grove Park District recently conducted a community survey. During July and August of 2009 surveys were mailed to 2,000 Elk Grove Village resident households. The goal was to receive 400 completed surveys in order for the results to be statistically reliable and valid. This goal was accomplished when 425 completed surveys were completed.  Thank you to all who completed the survey. Community surveys help establish priorities for the future improvement of parks and recreation facilities along with programs and services within the community. The survey overview includes 14 major survey findings.
